OUR TEAMS NEWS AND LATEST ACTIVITIES

Here we have a new Horsch Pronto machine direct drilling grass into a very dry Manawatu paddock in April. Johnny Shannon has recently established a contracting business specialising in crop establishment and re-grassing, and this will be his mainline machine.

Check out our customer Tim Porter using a Novag T-ForcePlus 450CT direct drill, to drill peas in Mid Canterbury. This machine is a great option for peas, all cereals, forage crops and grasses. If you would like to reduce your crop establishment costs with Novag no-tillage, give us a call today!
In late 2023 we have been demonstrating the HORSCH Maestro 8CX precision planter in Canterbury. This unit performed at 99% accuracy across the whole field, with seeding rates of 114,000 seeds per hectare and sowing at over 13kph consistently. If you are looking for unparalleled performance HORSCH is the way to go. Thanks to the teams that have allowed us into your operation and great set up by Sam Harrison to get this unit operational.
In November we delivered and installed a new Horsch Avatar 6.16SD direct drill to a customer in Southland. The drill was put immediately into work sowing pasja brassica and then peas and oats. The versatility of the Avatar allows for no till drilling but due to circumstances both these fields had been cultivated and it performed faultlessly. Thank you to Blair and Mel McKenzie of Knapdale for your business. Pictured is Blair and Sam Harrison of Carrfields who installed the Avatar and helped get it operational.
Carl Haugh - Carrfields Machinery Service Advisor, captured this photo of Arrowsmith Station's newly commissioned Novag 350-18 no-till seed drill. Taken near the Ashburton Gorge, witness the magic of impressive machinery and breathtaking scenery coming together!

Assembled with precision and care, our HORSCH Avatar and Pronto drills are primed and ready for the journey to their new homes.

Here we have a Grange 4m LDT towing a Horsch Avatar no till 4m drill sowing direct into wheat stubble. The Grange Low Disturbance Toolbar will alleviate any compaction issues at a sun surface level and help create an environment for healthy plant establishment with a good root structure.

Exploring the European industry, connecting with suppliers, and delving into the essence of exceptional machinery – that’s what the Carrfields Machinery team is up to! As the proud new distributor for Horsch in NZ, we recently underwent a comprehensive onboarding process and specialized technical sales training on their impressive product range. Now, we’re thrilled to bring these cutting-edge machines to the agricultural community in New Zealand.

The first of the Novag T-ForcePlus 950 (9m) machines are ready for delivery and installation in NSW, Australia. Witness cutting-edge technology with these innovative no-till drills, designed to ensure greater yields and reduced costs. Stay tuned for more, and talk to our team if you are interested in no-tillage the Novag way.

Following the recent announcement that Horsch will become a key part of the machinery portfolio at Carrfields, we were very pleased to welcome Horsch regional manager Micha Trotzky to Carrfields this week. We took the opportunity to visit some Canterbury farms and introduced Micha to customers who have invested in Horsch equipment who explained how it has transformed their businesses.

After two years, we were excited to extend an invitation to our valued customers to join us at the South Island Agricultural Field Days (SIAFD) 2023!  We hoped to create a memorable experience filled with great food, refreshing drinks, and good company. This was a great opportunity to network with like-minded individuals from the agricultural industry and learn more about the latest innovations in the field.
